Daily competition

1. The promotion consists of 1 daily competition (Monday to Friday) whereby listeners contact the radio station and give the most entertaining excuses they have used. The host of the show will then choose the most entertaining excuse of the day.

2. The daily prize for listeners is €100 shopping voucher for a retailer based at the shopping centre. The main draw will take place on the Saturday morning. The daily prize is as stated and cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged. No cash alternatives will be offered.

Grand prize draw

3. On the Saturday following the daily competitions a grand prize draw will be held and an overall winner will be chosen at random from the daily winners present. The grand prize is one year’s free electricity in accordance with clause 5 below. If the daily winner is not present they will not be included in this draw. Daily winners can appoint a representative to take their place in the shopping centre. This must be pre-approved with radio station and Bord Gáis Energy. All daily winners must bring with them photographic identification, this includes pre-approved persons representing daily winners

4. For the chance to win one year’s free electricity from Bord Gáis Energy listeners must be available to come to the Big Switch Stand in their local shopping centre location on Saturday of the promotion. One entry only is permitted per person. No third party entries will be accepted.

5. The grand prize is ‘free electricity for a year’. The prize will be awarded by placing a €1,500 credit (including VAT) on the winners Bord Gáis Energy account. If the winning person is not already a Bord Gáis Energy electricity customer, they are required to sign up to a Bord Gáis Energy residential electricity account to avail of the prize and agree to provide all necessary details to open an account. €1,500 represents “free electricity for a year” based on the average customer bill. This is the maximum amount that will be placed on the winning customer’s account. No additional amount will be placed on the account if the winning customer’s yearly usage exceeds this amount. If the €1,500 or part thereof remains unused by the winning customer at the end of the year then any remaining amount will be retained on the customer’s account and be carried forward for the customer’s future payments for electricity. If the customer changes Supplier or closes their Bord Gais Energy electricity account, any remaining prize money on the account will not be transferred  or provided in cash.  The grand prize is as stated and cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged. No cash alternatives will be offered.

General

6. If due to circumstances beyond Bord Gáis Energy’s control they are unable to provide the stated prizes, the right is reserved to substitute prize of equivalent value at Bord Gáis Energy’s discretion.

7. Bord Gáis Energy reserves the right to disqualify an entrant in the event that the promoter has grounds for believing that the entrant has contravened any of these Terms and Conditions of entry. Supply of inaccurate information will disqualify competition entrants from receiving any prize. If the overall winner is disqualified for any reason, another daily winner will be chosen by random selection draw to win one year’s free electricity.

8. The winner of the one year’s free electricity from Bord Gáis Energy may be required to provide a written acknowledgement of all or any of these terms and conditions.

9. Daily and grand prize winners may be required to participate in publicity arising from the award of the prize and by entering this promotion entrants acknowledge that they may be used in publicity without further consent or payment. Such publicity may include, without limitation, the winner’s names or images, any statement made relating to the promotion and the prize and any biographical information provided by the winner in relation to the prize.  Entrants agree that all such material may be used by Bord Gáis Energy in any media format in perpetuity as determined in absolute discretion.

10. This promotion is open to all Republic of Ireland residents who currently have an account for electricity supply, aged 18 or over, excluding employees of Bord Gais Eireann or its affiliates, the families of such employees and any other person connected with this promotion.

11. The decision of Bord Gáis Energy is final. No correspondence will be entered into. Bord Gáis Energy reserves the right to disqualify any contestant for any reason whatsoever at their sole discretion.
