Laois Leinster Campaign Ends With Positive Performance In Defeat To Kildare

Three goals from Kildare secured the Lilywhites victory in Manguard Park.

Offaly and Laois' provincial campaigns came to an end over the weekend in the Leinster Senior and Intermediate Football Championships.

In the senior grade, an ever improving Laois side were downed by last year's Intermediate All Ireland champions Kildare, the final score on Sunday was 3-3 to 0-10.

Four points from the boot of Katie Donoghue, and three from Emily Lacey kept the O'Moore County in contention up to the final whistle but the Lilywhites held on to secure their first win of their championship season.

The Leinster final will see Dublin taking on Meath, the girls in blue won a dress rehearsal for that contest with a comprehensive 5-13 to 8 points win in Parnell Park.

The Intermediate final will see Westmeath and Wexford meeting once again.

Their dry run saw Wexford win by four points, 2-7 to 1-6.

Offaly's final outing in the Championship ended in a comfortable victory in Tullamore.

Greg Farrelly's side won 4-9 to 1-6 against Wicklow.
