Midlands flooding under Oireachtas Committee spotlight


Last Novembers flooding in the Midlands is to be scrutinised by an Oireachtas environment committee this afternoon.

Representatives from a number of groups inculding the Office of Public works, Waterways Ireland and the IFA are attending the meeting.

Westmeath County Manager Danny McLoughlin is also appearing before the committee.

The aim of the meeting is to address how best to manage the scale of flooding in the region in the future.
