A former Offaly councillor has died.
John Flanagan served as a Fianna Fáil rep in Tullamore for two decades, from the mid 1980s to the mid 2000s.
He was also responsible for the building and operating of the Tullamore Court.
His company, John Flanagan Developments, rebuilt the Church of the Assumption after a fire devastated the building in the 1980s.
Mr. Flanagan was also a previous shareholder of Midlands 103, up until 2002.
Speaking to Albert Fitzgerald on Midlands 103's 'Life and Times' in 2005, he says the people of Tullamore were always very generous:
