Emergency Measures Needed To Protect Farming Industry

A European Election Candidate has described it as a "dying" industry.

The farming industry is dying, and needs emergency measures to be saved.

That's the view of European Election Candidate for Midlands North West, National Party leader James Reynolds.

The average age of a farmer in the midlands is over 56, while almost a third of those who own a farm are over 65.

European Election candidates and farmers will gather in the Bloomfield House Hotel in Mullingar this evening to discuss the future of the sector.
