Tailteann Cup: David Dempsey Previews Offaly's Return To Championship Action

The Ballycommon man says he's enjoying playing in Declan Kelly's backline this year.

Youthful exuberance and championship experience are creating a competitive blend in Offaly's backline, according Ballycommon's David Dempsey.

Dempsey and his teammates are preparing to make their entry in this year's Tailteann Cup against London in O'Connor Park tomorrow.

Their season so far has  been inconsistent, with positive performances against Wicklow in league action and Laois in the Leinster Championship, undermined by some poor losses that saw the Faithful County narrowly avoid relegation from Division Three.

Meanwhile London managed to pick a win and draw in Division Four, before being well beaten by Galway in the Connacht Championship.

A positive Dempsey says he's surrounded by quality defensive players this year.

He looks forward to the start of Offaly's Tailteann campaign with Midlands 103's David Hollywood:

The action in Tullamore throws in at 2pm tomorrow.
