Dementia Conference Coming To The Midlands Next Month

Experts from around the world will be attending.

An International Dementia Conference is set to be held in the midlands at the beginning of next month.

Engaging Dementia will host the event in the Annebrook House Hotel in Mullingar on the 8th and 9th of May.

The conference, with the title "Diversity in Dementia: Embracing Differences, Connecting Minds", will be the 16th iteration of the event.

There are currently around 64,000 people in Ireland living with dementia, with that expected to increase to over 141,000 by 2050.

Experts in the condition will be in attendance from across the globe.

Kim Tully, CEO of Engaging Dementia, says "We really want to highlight to people that there are many different faces to dementia, and that each diagnosis and path is very individual so sharing our experiences across the field will be invaluable to determining future approaches in dementia care."
