Midlands Student Wins Two Awards For Research On Energy Crisis

One award was the Runner Up for the overall Best Project.

A Westmeath student has taken home two awards for his scientific research into Ireland's energ crisis.

Fionn Campbell of Moate Community School was awarded the EirGrid Cleaner Climate Award at SciFest as well as being named the overall Runner-up for Best Project .

The fourth year's project 'A Crystal Clear Way To Slow Down Ireland's Energy Crisis' included a small-scale prototype for an electricity-generating speed ramp.

The awards were held at TUS Athlone Campus and featured 200 pieces from students in Westmeath and surrounding counties.
