Nicole Turner Taking On Best Of Europe In Madeira

Roisin Ni Riain has already won two medals for Ireland at the championships.

Roisin Ni Riain got Ireland off to the perfect start at the European Para Swimming Championships last night.

She swam a personal best time to claim gold in the 100m breaststroke, the Limerick swimmer had already won a silver in the S13 Butterfly final on Sunday.

It’s a busy day for Irish swimmers in Madeira, with Portarlington's Nicole Turner, Barry McClements, Dearbhaile Brady, and Deaten Registe all in action.

Turner, a Tokyo silver medalist, is targeting a return to the podium after finishing the World Championships in fourth place in the 50m butterfly final S6 final.

The Portarlington swimmer also placed fifth at the Worlds' final for the 50m freestyle S6 with a personal best time.
