Offaly Rider Taking On Ireland Oldest Road Race

Kevin Keyes has been in good form so far this year.

Offaly's Kevin Keyes will be taking on the oldest road race in Ireland this weekend at the 102nd running of the Cookstown 100 in Tyrone.

The Daracore rider is taking in the race on the Orittor circuit in preparation for making his Isle of Man debut in May and June.

The Edenderry man has made a strong start to his season, dominating at the first three rounds of the Mondello Masters in both the Superbike and Supersport categories.

Keyes, however, knows road racing is a different prospect entirely and will have to approach the famous jump at Black's Farm with plenty of respect.

He says he has the benefit of an experienced rider looking out for him.

He looks forward to this year's renewal with Midlands 103's David Hollywood:

After today's practice, racing begins in earnest tomorrow from 10am.
