Words Fail Me - Offaly Manager Left Shocked At Loss To Laois

Johnny Kelly's side were in control of their championship opener for the first 50 minutes.

Offaly's Senior hurling manager has been left speechless by the nature of his side's second half collapse against Laois in the first round of the Joe McDonagh Cup yesterday afternoon.

Johnny Kelly's side were the better side for the majority of the contest, and managed to turn a five point half time lead in to an eight point advantage with 20 minutes left on the clock.

Adam Screeney, an 18th minute substitute for Dan Ravenhill, starred for Kelly's side scoring eight points with one or two remarkable pieces of skill.

However a Paddy Purcell goal and quick fire point rocked Offaly who failed to regain their composure through the rest of the contest.

With the game in the melting pot, Purcell capitalised on some hesitant defending from the Faithful County after a turn over at the other end of the pitch.

Purcell delivered the finish to secure a big win for the Laois hurlers.

Kelly says he's at a loss as to why the game got away from Offaly:
